TEASER TUESDAYS asks you to:
- Grab your current read.
- Let the book fall open to a random page.
- Share with us two (2) “teaser” sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12.
- You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from … that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given!
- Please avoid spoilers!
My two 'teaser' sentences are from Midwives by Chris Bohjalian. I am reading it on the Kindle (see this post and this one to find out about how that came about), so instead of pages, I have 'locations' to reference. I am in chapter three at locations 545-554 for these sentences:
"My mother was a full-fledged, honest-to-God, no-holds-barred, Liberation New Service, peace-love-and-tie-dye hippie. This was no small accomplishment, since she grew up in a small village in northern Vermont."

You have a Kindle! I want an eReader...I need an eReader...lol!
Fun teaser!
I love reading ebooks on my pda - I prefer Microsoft Reader as I can add highlights, bookmarks and comments! I'd love to hear how you like your Kindle. I was thinking of doing some research and then a blogpost.

Tell me about the Kindle. Is it expensive? Would it be worth asking for as a Christmas gift?
Midwives is a great book...I loved reading it!
J.Kaye - did you miss my Oprah posts? I am just now figuring the Kindle out. I like parts, not too sure about others yet.
Wendi - I'm trying not to be too picky about the Kindle since I got it free from Oprah (links in my post), but also want to give it a fair review later on after I finish Midwives.
Shel - I think it's something like $359 but until Friday you can get $50 off cause of Oprah (code on her site). I like it so far. I am going to read all of midwives on it and then give a review on my site. Hopefully that will help you know whether to ask for a gift or not.
Yasmin - I am enjoying it so far!
have you finished Edgar Sawtelle? (am i allowed to ask that?)
Sounds like an interesting book!
Julie - LOL – why would you ask if you are allowed? I did not yet finish Edgar. I have that on my list. But I wanted to test out the Kindle first. ;-) Edgar is not very plot driven so I shouldn’t have memory issues on where I am when I get back to it, if that makes sense.
Avis... - It is interesting so far. Thanks for stopping by!
Michele, I've been wanting to read this one! Can't wait for your review. Have you read anything else by Bohjalian?
